This chocolate cake recipe is fairly easy to make and it doesn't take much time either. As a matter of fact this delicious moist chocolate cake recipe will only require about 25 minutes of preparation and 25 additional minutes of cooking time. Here are the ingredients you need this mouthwatering chocolate cake recipe:

For the cake:

  • 3 (1 oz.) squares of unsweetened chocolate
  • 2/3 cups of butter
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 1 cup of water
  • 3 tbs of cocoa powder
  • 1 and ¼ tsp of baking soda
  • 2tsp of pure vanilla essence
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • For the frosting:

  • 2 (1 oz) squares of unsweetened chocolate
  • ½ cup of buttermilk
  • 2 raw eggs
  • 2 tsp of vanilla essence
  • ½ cup of milk
  • 1/3 cups of butter
  • 4 tbs of powdered sugar
  • a pinch of salt
  • Directions

    Begin by heating the cup of water and preheating the oven to 350 degrees. Then melt 3 squares of chocolate and 2/3 cup of butter in a large saucepan, add the heated water and bring the entire mixture to boil. After the boiling point was reached, remove the saucepan from the heat and add the flour, the cocoa powder, the sugar and the baking soda to the mixture.

    After making sure that the mixture has cooled enough transfer all these ingredients in a food processor and mix everything until you get a smooth consistency using the eggbeater. Add the buttermilk and the eggs and the vanilla and repeat the process. When the desired consistency has been reached, pour everything in a 13x9'' pan and bake it for 25 minutes at 350 degrees.

    Meanwhile begin making the frosting by melting the chocolate and the butter in another saucepan. Add the rest of the ingredients and beat everything well. Let the cake cool for about 20 minutes and then add the frosting beating it again if necessary.
