Honey Fruit Bowls

When it comes to a healthy reward to your body, nothing goes better than some honey fruit bowls. They are both healthy and delicious, and a great alternative to classic desserts, which main purpose is just to taste right. This dessert selects special healthy ingredients, great in taste, great for your body and its state of being.


This delicious refreshing dessert is great for the warmer summer months, and it combines lots of incredible tasty summer fruits, like bananas, oranges, raspberries, blueberries and red apples. Honey is the perfect ingredient which completes this dessert’s taste, and it’s really no wonder why it has been chosen to do that. Honey has that natural sweetness necessary to create one healthy treat, while still enjoying something deliciously sweet and fresh.

Used in various foods and beverages due to its flavoring and sweetness, honey has also been used in medical purposes for thousand f years. With strong antibacterial effects, with lots of antioxidants and with healing characteristics, honey has a long history dating back in ancient times. The ancient Egyptians used it in many dishes, but also for sweetening cakes and biscuits, while the Maya, who regards bees as being sacred, still uses honey today for culinary purposes. The Greeks also included honey in their religious customs, and the Romans thought so high of the honey, that it was used instead of gold when paying taxes.
Honey, this incredible natural ingredient, still manages to inspire mankind in various purposes.

Used in lots of cakes, sweets and healthy treats, honey is sometimes the first choice when it comes to creating a truly wonderful and tasteful dessert. The honey fruit bowls are, as said before, a great alternative in the hot summer days, due t its refreshing ingredients and way of serving. This recipe serves for 16 servings (served in 2 fruit bowls), and needs the following ingredients:

  • 1 large honeydew
  • 1 large red apple
  • 1 large navel orange,
  • 1 medium firm banana
  • 1 kiwifruit
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice concentrate
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup unsweetened raspberries
  • 2 tablespoons fat-free liquid coffee creamer

  • Halve the honeydew, dice the apple, section the navel orange, peel and slice the kiwifruit, remove the fruits form the honeydew, and set the melon bowls and fruit aside.
    Take a bowl and mix in it the apple, the banana, the orange, the orange juice concentrate, half of the blueberries quantity and the lemon juice. After mixing well, spoon them into the melon bowls. Now take a blender and combine the honeydew together with the remaining blueberries and the raspberries, and mix until they are fully blended. Add the creamer while stirring, and then pour over the fruit. After chilling a little bit the bowls, using a bed of ice, it can be served immediately.

    This healthy recipe will combine the delicious taste of raw, uncooked fruits, while maintaining their natural vitamins and nutritional attributes which make this dessert undoubtedly a great and tasteful healthy treat.
