Low Sugar Chocolate Soufflé

The low sugar chocolate soufflé is the most amazing recipe, as it perfectly combines the sweet, delicious flavor of the chocolate soufflé with a low fat and low calorie dessert one can always dream about. The soufflé is famous for its light and fluffy texture. However as a deep sign of appreciation when it comes to soufflés, the most popular and officially delicious is no other than the chocolate one. Other alternatives to chocolate include the Grand Marnier, which is a triple sec liqueur, originally produced in France, and which is the main ingredient in many cocktails as well as desserts.

This low calorie and sugar chocolate soufflé recipe serves 6 and it’s a truly delicious pampering for all occasions. Here’s what it takes to prepare it:

  • 1/2 cup of Splenda
  • 2 tbsp of cornstarch
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 squares (one ounce each) unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 tbsp of instant coffee granules
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 2 tbsp of softened butter
  • 1 tsp of sugar free caramel flavored syrup
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1/4 tsp of cream of tartar

  • Use a medium sauce pan in which mix the cornstarch, the Splenda and the instant coffee, while gradually adding milk. Then add chocolate and cook over medium heat until the chocolate is melted then remove from heat. Now beat the egg yolks until they reach a thick texture and begin beating into it the chocolate mixture. It’s now time to stir in the caramel syrup and the butter, then leave to cool at the room’s temperature.

    Preheat the oven to 350F degrees, take 6 cups of soufflé dishes, butter them and sprinkle evenly some Splenda around the buttered dish. Make sure to cover both the bottom and the sides. Use an aluminum foil to make band that will extend 4 inches above the top of each cup, butter it and sprinkle with Splenda too.

    Beat the egg whites together with the cream of tartar until peaks form, and fold half of it into the chocolate mixture, until it’s well incorporated, then add the other half.
